📌 PSLE Exam Strategy Tips

  • Do Section A (MCQ) first — aim to finish in 30 minutes. Don't get stuck on one question.
  • In Section B, always use full sentences and include scientific keywords. Avoid vague answers like "it gets bigger."
  • For "explain why" questions, use the format: "Because [keyword/reason], therefore [outcome]."
  • Check if the question asks for ONE or TWO points — don't lose marks by giving only one when two are needed.
  • For fair test questions: always state the changed variable, controlled variables, and measured variable.

❓ Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents and students ask about PSLE Science exam papers in Singapore.

Are these exam papers from actual schools?
ScienceStar's practice papers are original, MOE-aligned papers created by our team. They are modelled closely on the format, difficulty, and topic distribution of actual Singapore school exams (SA1, SA2, CA, PSLE). For actual past-year school exam papers, check our Past Year Questions section or your school's exam library. These practice papers are designed to complement, not replace, your school's revision materials.
What is the format of PSLE Science 2026?
The PSLE Science paper is 100 marks, 1 hour 45 minutes. Section A has 28 MCQ questions (2 marks each = 56 marks). Section B has open-ended questions (44 marks) requiring written answers in full sentences. The paper covers all 15 topics in the MOE 2026 Primary Science syllabus. There is no negative marking.
How many practice papers should I do before PSLE?
Aim to complete at least 5–8 full practice papers in the 2 months before your PSLE exam. Doing more papers is only helpful if you review your mistakes — after each paper, identify weak topics and go back to study those specifically. Use our Level Check tool to identify weak spots, and then target those topics with our PSLE topic quizzes.
What topics are most important for PSLE Science?
Based on historical analysis, the highest-frequency PSLE Science topics are: Forces & Simple Machines (4–6 marks), Electrical Systems (4–5 marks), Animals & Body Systems (4–5 marks), and Food Chains & Webs (3–4 marks). These four topics alone account for about 40–45% of the total marks. See our Top 100 MCQ page for a full topic-by-topic frequency breakdown.
Can I print these papers?
Yes! All ScienceStar content is print-friendly. Visit our Print Sheets page for printer-optimised worksheets by topic. For full papers, use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P / Cmd+P) on any topic page. We recommend printing Section B question sets for written practice.
