1About ScienceStar

ScienceStar operates the website primayscience.org ("the Site"). We are an independent free educational platform providing Singapore Primary Science revision materials for students in Primary 3 through PSLE (approximately ages 9 to 12), their parents, and their teachers.

The Site offers quizzes, flashcards, study notes, diagrams, and practice papers aligned to the MOE 2026 Primary Science syllabus. All content is provided free of charge. To cover the cost of running the Site, we display advertisements served by Google AdSense.

This Privacy Policy applies to all pages and features of primayscience.org. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2Data We Collect

ScienceStar is deliberately designed to operate without collecting personal information from users. Specifically:

The only personal information we receive is if you choose to email us directly at hello@primayscience.org. In that case, we receive your email address and any information you include in your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and do not add it to any mailing list or share it with third parties.

Third-party services we embed (Google AdSense and Google Fonts) may collect limited technical data as described in Sections 4 and 6 below.

3Children's Privacy

ScienceStar is used primarily by children aged 9 to 12, together with their parents and teachers. We take children's privacy extremely seriously and have made specific design and configuration choices to protect young users.

For parents and guardians: If you believe your child has inadvertently provided personal data to ScienceStar, please contact us immediately at hello@primayscience.org. We will investigate and take immediate steps to address the matter.

ScienceStar complies with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012 and takes all reasonable measures to ensure our platform is safe, appropriate, and private for young learners.

📢 4. Google AdSense — Advertising on ScienceStar

✓ Non-Personalised Ads Enabled Site-Wide

ScienceStar displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). These advertisements help us keep the Site free for all students and their families.

Non-Personalised Ads (NPA) configuration: We have applied the requestNonPersonalizedAds=1 parameter to our AdSense implementation across the entire Site. This means:

What Google AdSense may still do under NPA: Even under non-personalised ads configuration, Google AdSense may use cookies for these limited purposes only:

Children's advertising protection: Google's own policies prohibit personalised advertising on content primarily directed at children under 13. Since ScienceStar's primary audience includes children aged 9 to 12, we have applied the non-personalised ads setting across the entire Site rather than page-by-page, ensuring consistent protection for all users at all times.

Google's policies: Google AdSense is governed by the Google Advertising Policy and Google Privacy Policy.

If you see an advertisement on ScienceStar that appears inappropriate for a children's educational platform, please contact us at hello@primayscience.org and we will investigate.

5Cookies and Cookie Consent

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by a website. Here is a clear breakdown of cookie usage on ScienceStar.

Cookies set by ScienceStar directly: None. ScienceStar does not set any first-party cookies.

Cookies set by Google AdSense: Google AdSense may set third-party cookies for the limited non-personalised purposes described in Section 4 (frequency capping, aggregated reporting, fraud detection). These cookies do not track your browsing across other websites for advertising purposes under our non-personalised ads configuration.

Cookies set by Google Fonts: Google Fonts may log a request when fonts are loaded. This does not identify you personally.

Your cookie choices: You can manage, disable, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use ScienceStar's educational content, quizzes, or study tools. You can also opt out of Google's advertising cookies at google.com/settings/ads.

Cookie consent notice: A cookie consent notice appears at the bottom of this Site when you first visit. You may accept or decline optional cookies. Declining will not restrict your access to any content on ScienceStar. Your preference is stored in your browser's localStorage.

6Third-Party Services

ScienceStar uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or any other analytics service. We do not use social media plugins, affiliate tracking, or marketing attribution tools of any kind.

7Local Storage and Browser Data

ScienceStar uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to save your quiz scores, XP points, flashcard progress, and study preferences locally on your own device.

In simple terms: Your quiz scores and progress belong entirely to you and stay on your device. We cannot see them and do not want to.

8Your Rights Under PDPA

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@primayscience.org. We aim to respond to all privacy-related enquiries within 5 business days.

9Security

ScienceStar takes reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the security of the Site and its users:

If you discover a security vulnerability on the Site, please report it to us at hello@primayscience.org.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice on the Site homepage for at least 14 days if changes are significant.

Your continued use of ScienceStar after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
